The most recent production run of the GT100-45 sold out before it arrived.
We recommend that you place a backorder to secure a place in line (we don't collect payment until your order ships), or email us and ask to be added to the notification list for the next shipment. The GT100-90 is also a good choice.
Our updated Garrett® 100mm F/5.3 Mark II binocular telescope offers unrivaled flexibility for the amateur astronomer or long-distance terrestrial observer. It weighs in at just 13.3 pounds - about half the weight of competing designs - while still offering the advantage of standard 1.25-inch helical focusers. Here's a binocular that will accept virtually all your 1.25" telescope eyepieces and still be light enough for quick and easy setup. The precision helical focusers are angled at 45º to make observing more comfortable than with a conventional straight-through binocular. This binocular offers the best features of a rich-field telescope – such as the ability to easily vary magnification – without sacrificing the three-dimensional viewing experience of a binocular.
The flat-field objective lenses deliver high-contrast views of deep space objects and solar system targets alike – from quick looks at the moon and brighter planets to comet hunting, the Garrett® GT100-45 binocular telescope can take you wherever you want to go. The binocular includes two sets of standard 1.25" oculars, 23mm (57° AFOV) and 13mm (60° AFOV) focal length, yielding 23x and 41x magnification, respectively. Additionally, you always have the ability to expand your magnification range by inserting virtually any 1.25" telescope eyepiece from 40mm down to about 9mm. The updated Mark II version now features twist-lock eyepiece holders to insure precise centering and make switching between eyepieces easier than ever before.
All air-to-glass surfaces in the air-spaced achromatic objective lenses and the prisms are broadband multi-coated, and the precisely-polished prisms are crafted from high-index BaK4 optical glass. The cast-aluminum binocular body features a durable and attractive glossy white finish and integrated retractable dewshields. The picture says it all - this is one good-looking binocular!
A brand-new feature is the integration of a pre-aligned, standard Vixen-style dovetail base. This makes it easy to mount virtually any finder (such as our excellent MRRF red-dot sight, available as an option for $49.95 at the time of purchase).
We have two recommended mounting solutions for these instruments: For those looking for an affordable, conventional tripod the Garrett Series 5000 is hard to beat. What's more, the Series 5000 is available as a package with the GT100-45 for just $200 additional. An even better, though more expensive solution is the Helix 10-inch fork mount. You can also use many heavy-duty tripods or parallelogram mounts with the standard ¼-20 threaded mounting plate that's integrated into the design. Included with each binocular telescope is a high-quality aluminum-trimmed carrying case. Each binocular telescope is individually tested for collimation as part of our 14-point inspection, and any necessary adjustments are performed by a highly-experienced technician. Collimation is adjustable by experienced users. It is also covered by our two-year warranty and 30-day return policy.
