Looking for the biggest binocular you can handhold? Our 56mm and 60mm Lightweights are simply the largest-aperture binoculars available that we recommend for exclusive handheld use. Designed with the amateur astronomer in mind, the GeminiŪ series are an affordable way to build memories under the stars with family and friends. They're also an excellent choice for long-range hunting, birding, marine and surveillance applications.
The lightweight Gemini LW versions provide the most bang-for-the-buck of any binoculars around. Every Gemini big binocular features prisms polished from high-index BaK4 glass and our best-quality Broadband Multi-Coatings on every air-to-glass surface (including the prisms). It's features like these that make Gemini giant binoculars such a great choice for amateur astronomers, hunters, and birders. Binoculars excel at deep space observation - viewing objects such as star clusters and nebulae. Quick looks at solar system objects are also rewarding - Saturn will appear elongated, the moons of Jupiter will be in evidence, and Earth's own moon will reveal intense detail.
The Gemini 9x60 LW provides a balance between magnification and aperture that is just right for many low-light observing conditions, making it a near-ideal handheld glass for dark skies. Our 12x60 LW is a great compromise size that can be handheld much more easily than the larger 15x70 LW, thus making it well suited to those who want maximum magnification and light-gathering power without the constant need for a tripod. Some may still prefer a tripod for the 12x60 LW for extended observing sessions, and the 12x magnification is pushing the limits of hand-holdability as far as is practical for most people. The 60mm objective lenses of both models gulp in about 44% more light than standard 50mm objectives, and the low price makes for a value that is hard to beat. Each binocular is covered by our two-year warranty and 30-day return policy.
Every Garrett Optical binocular must pass a rigorous 14-point inspection that insures a high degree of both optical and mechanical performance, including accurate collimation. Any necessary adjustments are performed by a highly experienced technician on a U.S. Navy Mark V Collimator.
