Everything about these instruments says "quality." Their attractive rubber armoring and hefty all-metal CNC-machined and cast aluminum construction is guaranteed to last for many years to come. Fully broadband multi-coated optics and BaK4 prisms farther enhance the view. Collimation can be adjusted by experienced users, if necessary. Every Garrett Optical binocular must pass a rigorous 14-point inspection that insures a high degree of both optical and mechanical performance, including accurate collimation. Any necessary adjustments are performed by a highly experienced technician on a U.S. Navy Mark V Collimator. An added perk is that every Gemini Waterproof binocular comes with a deluxe heavy-duty carrying case with durable PVC armoring and aluminum trim. The cases are lined with soft, "egg-crate"-style foam for maximum protection.
Our 15x70 WP-IF and 15x70 WP-CF models are beautifully-made binoculars, with optics and mechanics worthy of respect even when compared to much more expensive models. A 4.3° field and moderate weight of 4 lbs., 2.5 oz. make this binocular an excellent choice for lighter-duty mounts, when combined with an L-adapter (sold separately). It can even be handheld for quick looks. The IF version utilizes smooth, CNC-machined individual focusers provide the precision focusing essential for maxium performance on astronomical targets. The CF version, which has a minimum focus distance of 12m, uses a high-quality conventional center focus arrangement with twist-up eyecups and a right diopter. This makes it a good choice for those who plan to use their binocular for terrestrial as well as astronomical observation.
